I Am Now a Certified Patent Valuation Analyst (CPVA)!

I’m thrilled to share that I have officially earned my Certified Patent Valuation Analyst (CPVA) credential after completing an intensive training program led by leading professionals in the field.

Over the course of this certification, I developed hands-on expertise in:

• Valuing emerging technologies using a variety of industry methodologies,
• Negotiating and structuring patent licensing agreements for maximum impact,
• Advanced patent valuation techniques including income, cost, market, and real options approaches,
• Calculating damages for patent infringement (including reasonable royalty and lost profits),
• And monetizing patents through sales, licensing, and strategic exits.

I have enhanced practical skills—not only on how to evaluate the patent itself, but also how to spot red flags in patent portfolios and handle risk and opportunity across various geopolitical environments and industries (using tools like the Transparency International Corruption Index), thereby computing a best-estimated value for both innovators and investors. I also worked through real case studies, financial models, and negotiation scenarios.
